I'm an Associate Professor in Organisational Psychology at the University of Waikato and a Registered Organisational Psychologist. I am passionate about using psychology to improve our everyday working lives and my teaching, research and writing focus on this.
I teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules on the application of Psychology to work. I also teach Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management on MBA and Health programmes and have experience of Quantitative Research Methods training for doctoral students.
In my research, I'm engaged in answering questions such as "What kind of things can improve our well-being at work?" and "How different are we in our 'home' and 'work' roles, and how does it affect us?" I supervise several PhD students who are working on projects in these areas. You can find out more here.
My consultancy is built around people. I help organisations plan and interpret their own internal research, so they can make confident, informed decisions. I offer training and coaching for individuals and groups focused on meaningful professional and self-development. And I work closely with managers and employees to build working environments where well-being isn't an afterthought it's at the heart of how they operate.
