Verse two describes the couple's contrasted attitudes towards work.
"She sits on her ass, he works his hands to the bone"; shows how the boyfriend conveys a good work ethic, as he works tirelessly to "give her money every payday", which isn't enough for his girlfriend. "But she wants more dinero just to stay at home", which shows she expects more money without doing any work and having a negative work attitude.
Therefore even if she were to "get a job", according to the talented employee survey shown in this week's lecture, she would not necessarily be seen as a talented employee based on her description in the song and would be less likely to be employed. What HR practitioners and line managers valued most were positive attitudes towards work and a good work ethic, which her character did not represent during the second verse.

Why don't you get a job? In Organizational Psychology this an important question to have, hiring and recruiting take time and money on both sides. Using more structured interviews can save a lot of time and struggles with unintentional biases, aptitude tests can also help find out the competencies of potential and streamline the whole process. Using something like The Big 5, which looks at Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, is one of the standard tools used by a lot of businesses to help measure some of these qualities. Based on the version I tried out (https://www.truity.com/test/big-five-personality-test) this is a test that asks several questions on a 1-5 Likert scale (1 being inaccurate, 3 being neutral, 5 being accurate), and how much each statement applies to the person filling it out. I noticed it had a lot of counterbalanced questions, which means you can do meaningful statistical tests on the data to make sure the scores are more valid with self-reporting. People can have different personality traits at work than they do in other contexts.
