Wouldn't change a thing

Mia Wild

I think that the main premise of this song is that Kylie went through a series of events or changes throughout her life, but she wouldn’t change a thing regarding how she dealt with or decided on consolidating these changes. This can be related in a different way towards this week’s lecture regarding Managing Change. The lyrics: 'I wouldn’t change a single thing, there’s no questioning in my heart’ can be related to how change is very subjective and individualistic. If an individual is resistant to change, it is certainly down to how much change an individual is comfortable with, and how well their transition process for change is. Hayes (2010) transition model supports this claim further, with the seven stages of transition, in which every individual will have a different reaction, transition, and speed process when overcoming and understanding changes amongst the workplace or even in their personal/social life. Furthermore, If an employee doesn’t like change, they might become resistant to future change, while other employees may be better equipped for change adaptation. Overall, the song can infer just how personal change really is, and that change isn’t linear for everybody.
